FAQs

  • Your first session will allow us to get to know one another and build the therapeutic alliance. Disclosing difficult content can be challenging so I encourage all new patients to only share what feels comfortable. I will also incorporate aspects of neuroscience into our conversation to help you better understand how your brain is showing up in times of stress.

  • The typical individual session is 60 minutes but can be extended as needed. However, for couples and relationship sessions I like to do 90 minutes to adequately address everyone’s presenting concerns. I want to give you the space to settle into the therapeutic setting, work through the topic at hand, and have time to mindfully transition back to everyday life. The frequency of sessions is dependent upon need: “more therapy when you need it, less when you don’t.”

  • The therapeutic journey is a process and there is no one-size fits all model. I want you to feel empowered to take your healing journey into your own hands. Therapy can help navigate acute stressors in the moment and process lasting issues that have been present for an extended period of time. For some this can be two-three months to address a specific stressor, for others, having a consistent time in the busy week to focus on needs and self-improvement is an important part of self-care.

  • Therapy is an emotional, financial, and time investment in you. During our 30-minute consult call I will provide session rates for the initial, individual, and relationship sessions. My rates allow me to keep a caseload that is focused and dedicated to you. I do offer some sliding scale options based on need and can be discussed during the consult call.

  • I value your independence and privacy and for that reason I do not take insurance. I can however, provide a super bill every-other week that you can submit for reimbursement. Some PPO plans offer partial compensation for out of network private therapy. I am happy to discuss this process more if you need assistance.
